What does “by appointment only” mean?
I am a custom cake shop specializing in custom designed cakes, and dessert bars. This means I only make what clients order when the order is placed. (See below for why I use the term client instead of customer.)
Client vs. Customer
“Wait, clients not customers?” I hear you saying. I view each and every one of my customers as clients because I’m not interested in selling you a confection and hustling you out the door. My wish is that you will be so pleased with my craft, that you become a lifetime customer, perhaps even a multi-generational customer. That, my friend is why I will never consider you a mere customer, but a true client. Contact me now or call me at (504) 952-4752 now to see what the difference between a client and a customer is from the very first step.
Can I visit your shop?
I do not have a storefront suitable for visiting since I do not operate a retail counter. This means the bakery comes to you! I am happy to arrange a time and place to visit with you for a one-on-one consultation, so please head to the contact page to get started!
Do you plan to ever open a shop?
While I would never be so foolish to say opening a shop is never in the future, I can truthfully say is isn’t in my short- or long-term plan. My primary focus will always be the specific needs of each individual client. Operating a retail counter means having ensure there is enough product stocked and having enough personnel to staff the counter. This means there will always be distractions taking away from the personal and specific needs of clients when it comes to custom cakes.
What is the best way to place an order?
You can get started by filling out the contact form, or by calling me at (504) 952-4752. Please be forgiving if you have to leave a voicemail, this is my directly cell phone, not a shop phone.
Is there a minimum on cake orders?
Yes, and the exact amount depends on the type of cake you are looking for.
Signature Cakes have a $45 minimum
Celebration Cakes have a $65 minimum
Sculpted or 3D cakes have a $200 minimum
Wedding Cakes have a $500 minimum
Wedding Cakes that are delivered have a $600 minimum
Groom’s Cakes have a $175 minimum
Please note that minimums do not include any refundable deposits.
Do you offer cutting service?
Yes! For wedding cakes and other similar large-event cakes, service is available. Please be sure to mention that you would like to discuss service at your In-Person Tasting.
What are you doing to protect the environment?
Protecting the environment is something taken very seriously at Stacey’s Custom Cakes. I start with sourcing organic and fair trade ingredients and avoiding artificial ingredients and preservatives whenever possible. Some packaging and displays are reusable to reduce landfill use. Since everything is made to custom order, waste is reduced to an absolute minimum.
When should I order my cake?
I will work with you no matter what your timeline is, but I do ask kindly for at least two week’s notice.
Wedding cakes should be booked at least six months in advance as bookings do fill up early. Bookings are on a first-come first-serve basis, and I recommend booking your reservation during your In-Person Tasting.
How do I get an In-Person Tasting?
For wedding cakes, I offer In-Person Tasting. This is an opportunity for you to meet me and taste different options for your cake. An In-Person Tasting costs $35, which will go toward the deposit if you book your reservation at the Tasting. You can get started by filling out the contact form, or by calling (504) 952-4752. Please be forgiving if you have to leave a voicemail, this is my directly cell phone, not a shop phone.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major US credit cards, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and cash. Checks are not accepted for any products or services. Non-cash refunds will be applied to the original payment method. Cash refunds will be made by check.
Do you deliver cakes?
Absolutely! Delivery for wedding cakes is included when applicable. Delivery for all other cakes is priced at $1.75 per mile.
